Dancing on Broken Soles

In the hills above Kandy, nine-year-old Ravi Wijesinghe is being raised to inherit his father’s silver headdress and his place at the head of the Esala Perahera, until one night he sees a man in white leap across a hotel television and wants, more than anything, to dance ballet. From a dusty village yard to a cold London ballet school, this is the story of a son who must find out whether a boy can carry two kinds of dance, and two kinds of love, without breaking.
