Hollowfield

The pit in the Welsh valley town of Hollowfield closed in 1985, but when Carys Prosser comes home to bury her father, she hears picks swinging beneath the house at three in the morning. Now the town's sleepers are waking with coal in their lungs and blood on their hands, and something in the old seams is calling the night shift back to work.
